EUROCIS 2025

21 de febrero de 2025

Events

This February, EuroCIS, one of Europe’s leading trade fairs for retail technology, was held in Düsseldorf, Germany. We had the opportunity to attend the event, which featured 500 exhibitors from 37 countries. Here are some of the most relevant topics covered:

AI for retail: Robots, visual recognition and smart management

Unsurprisingly, AI took centre stage in solutions designed to automate processes, enhance customer service and optimise inventory management. Innovations showcased included visual product recognition in self-service scales and mobile robots for stock control.

The Internet of Things: Smart Store

Concepts of frictionless stores were explored, featuring automated payment systems and IoT technologies that enable a smooth and personalised shopping experience. Proposals included smart shelves, allowing real-time monitoring of items connected to central management systems for inventory optimisation.

Consumer-centred innovation

Adapting and integrating as many proposals as possible is important and necessary, but the customer must remain at the centre of these strategies. Use data and analytics to deliver compelling, seamless shopping experiences to customers.

Intelligent Security

Amid the rise in cyberattacks, the need to protect digital retail systems was strongly highlighted. Solutions focused on identity management, real-time vulnerability analysis, and attack path simulation were presented.

Smart Energy Management

New technologies were introduced to optimise in-store energy consumption, supporting sustainability and reducing operational costs.

These five pillars form the foundation of the future of retail, shaped by the integration of technology and its adaptation to consumer behaviour. In a complex and dynamic environment, physical stores will continue to play a key role, moving towards greater omnichannel integration.
